TV gives us a picture of ghosts that arn’t very nice. Sometimes they are scary, other times they are dangerous. They are almost always evil.
They give the appearance that you can sometimes see them, sometimes you can’t. Maybe it’s best to see them at night? Maybe they have substance like a thicker gas that gives then visibility in certain lights. Of course gas disperses, ghosts do not. Maybe ghosts emit their own light.
I think these tv shows largely give the impressions that ghosts are homebody’s. Not all, but most. There are many haunted house movies.
Really, these tv’s and movies are just entertainment.
Let me tell you about my ghosts…
I have a couple of ghosts.
First, I think I am being haunted by one or maybe two ghost cats. Generally at might, just before I fall asleep, I’ll hear a cat jump on the bed, then I’ll hear the cat walking toward me, I kind of feel the blanket move as the cat takes each step. And then when the cat is within arms reach, I’ll reach over to pet it. And.. nothing, no cat! I turn on the lamp.. nothing.
How often does this happen? Every day for about a week or two and then it stops for a few months, and then it starts back up. When it happens usually one cat will jump up, but a couple of ghost cats have jumped on my bed several times. I think they want to play.
How long has the been going on? Maybe 15 years. For awhile when I was living in YC, and now that I’m living in Sac. Maybe it started before I moved to YC.
Maybe those are dreams? Maybe, but I believe reaching down to pet the cat and finding nothing, even turning on the light is real, and not a dream.
My second ghost is in the office, in my computer. There are often times when I think my computer is playing music when it isn’t. I work from home. And when I’m not in meetings I do have music playing. But at lunch time I take a break and when I come back music is not usually playing. Maybe I’m checking email, maybe answering chat messages, and then I notice music. And I look over at my computer and nothing. Or maybe I take a hand washing break, then I hear music playing from my computer when I go into the office.. nothing.
Last night, Rhonda commented that I left the music playing on my computer. (I hate when I do that because the song doesn’t m come up again for a year) so I immediately go to the office and nothing!.. actually this time my computer, just started the backup, it was my hard drive heads racing backwards and forward. Maybe that is what I am hearing.
So I might have resolved my music ghost, but I still think I have a cat ghost or two.
